Starlink has discounted its Residential plans and halved the price of its hardware for a limited time.

New customers will get $20 off per month (for the first 12 months) on either residential plan. This brings the price of the Residential Lite plan down to $79 (from $99 per month).

With either plan, you'll get the Starlink Kit for $275 rather than the usual $549.

This offer is available until September 3, 2025.

You don't need to commit to staying connected for the full 12 months, but if you cancel your service or change your service to a non-Residential plan, you'll lose any remaining promotional pricing.

Starlink offers a 30-day hardware trial. If you change your mind within the trial period, you can return the hardware for a full refund (this does not include the first month's plan fees).

Starlink will still honour its 30-day trial for the hardware. If you change your mind within that trial period, you can return the hardware. Once the trial ends, your service commitment will end 12 months from your activation.

At the time of writing, Starlink is advertising download speeds up to 325Mbps and upload speeds of up to 35Mbps.

The ACCC's most recent Measuring Broadband Australia Report found Starlink's average download speeds came in at 197.2Mbps at all hours and 170.2Mbps during peak hours (7pm to 11pm, weeknights).

This is much higher than Satellite NBN, which maxes out at 100Mbps. Satellite NBN plans start at a much lower price point, however, and have no upfront hardware costs.
