If you're a true sports fanatic, you can't beat a Kayo Sport subscription, it's basically the Netflix of sports.
Plus, it comes with a bunch of handy features designed to create the ultimate viewing experience (short of being in a stadium itself).

How much is Kayo Sports?
Kayo offers membership across two price tiers. Both get you access to absolutely all of Kayo's content in HD, and the ability to cancel at any time. What changes is how many screens you can watch on simultaneously, plus the more expensive plan has up to 4K quality.
With a One subscription, you only get one screen, which is a great option for people who make sports time a family affair. With a Basic subscription, you get two screens, which means you could be keeping up with the cricket downstairs, while someone else watch motorsports in another room.
Note: "Simultaneous screens" is different to "SplitView". Even if you've split your screen across four different sports at once, that still counts as only one screen. More on that in the features section.
At $35 per month for two simultaneous screens, Kayo is one of the priciest streaming services. It also doesn't offer discounted annual pricing, unlike Amazon Prime Video, BritBox, Disney Plus and Paramount Plus. Compare Kayo pricing to other popular Australian streaming services below:
Like Netflix, your level of Kayo subscription affects streaming quality. This means you'll need to pay for the more expensive plan if you want 4K content.
Hubbl users can save on their Kayo Sports subscription with a monthly bill credit by bundling three or more services.
Number of services | Bill credit | |
---|---|---|
Three services | $5 per month | |
Four services | $10 per month | |
Five or more services | $15 per month |
Eligible services include Binge, Flash News, Kayo Sports, Lifestyle and Netflix (billed through Hubbl).

Kayo is now available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 but there is no Kayo app for Xbox at the time of writing.
It's worth noting a few devices don't support Kayo's SplitView at all. These include unsupported Android TVs, Telstra TV, Chromecast, AirPlay, PlayStations, and TVs by Samsung, Hisense, Hubbl, Hubbl Glass, LG and Sony. Apple TV and some supported Android TVs are currently the only streaming TVs to support it.
Keep in mind, even if your chosen method of viewing allows for SplitView, the function does have various features that differ between devices. If you want to watch on your computer, Kayo will work with Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. You can refer to Kayo's website here for SplitView specifics for each device type.
Or if you're keeping up with your games on the go, Kayo has an iOS app for your iPhone or iPad and an Android app for Android phones and tablets. But you should note that on mobile phones you can only split your screen two ways, whereas tablets allow you to split your screen up to four ways and the Pop-out function isn't available for mobile or tablet.
What are Kayo Sports' special features?
As a dedicated sports streaming service, Kayo comes with a unique range of features specifically designed with sports fans in mind.
Splitview
Allows you to watch up to two matches simultaneously on mobile and up to four on a tablet, desktop, Apple TV, or Android TV. The split-screen feature comes with a range of templates to choose from. You can split your screen evenly between four games or have one feature and up to three smaller windows. You can easily toggle sound between windows without affecting your layout, so you can check in on the progress of different matches as you watch. See screenshot below for an example of splitview on Kayo.

Key Moments
Shown on the video player timeline, key moments let you skip ahead to the most exciting parts of a match. This feature is turned off by default to avoid spoilers, but you can turn it on by selecting the icon which looks like a screen with a line through it. Key moments are not available for all games.
No spoilers
Selected by default, "no spoilers" will make sure scores don't appear while you're navigating the Kayo interface. This function also blocks "key moments", so bear that in mind when using.
Pop-out player
If you're watching on your computer, use the pop-out-player (bottom right) to set up a small, floating screen so you can keep one eye on a match while you're getting on with other things. See the screenshot below for an example of the pop-out player on Kayo.

Match Centre and Kayo Minis
A raft of content related to the event you're watching. The "match centre" will appear in the menu below the main event and can include "Kayo Mini" match digests, commentary, previous game highlights, interviews and related documentaries. Kayo Minis are match highlight reels that run for around 20 minutes. These are a great way for you to get a full sense of the match and its pacing, without having to watch for hours at a time.
Interactive Stats
Available for AFL, NRL, cricket, and A-League, Interactive Stats displays in-game stats. If you're watching AFL, for example, you can see how many kicks, handballs, inside 50s, etc, there have been in the game so far, and who the top players are. This feature is only available on desktop, Apple TV and iPhone and iPad devices.
What are the alternatives to Kayo Sports?

Stan has its own sports streaming service — Stan Sport. Priced at a low $15 per month (on top of your existing Stan subscription), Stan Sport is the home to a whole host of football including the UEFA Champions, Europa and Youth Leagues. You'll also find Rugby like the Super Rugby Pacific, World Rugby Sevens and more.
Paramount Plus is another streaming service to branch into the sporting sector, with every A-League, Socceroos, Matildas and FA Cup game live as well as round-the-clock coverage from CBSN. But, unlike Stan, Paramount Plus' sport content comes at no additional cost.
Optus Sport is home to Premier League, La Lega and more soccer from $24.99 a month (or just $6.99 for some Optus customers).
There's also a tonne of sport on Foxtel but we'll dive into that further below.
Is Kayo Sports cheaper than Foxtel?
Kayo is officially run by Hubbl a streaming company that in turn is owned by Foxtel. This means that all of Kayo's programming is also available through both a traditional Foxtel package and a Foxtel Now streaming subscription. However, there are some drawbacks to choosing either of these paths to fulfil your sporting needs.
With a Foxtel subscription, you may get all the same content, but you'll miss out on Kayo's special features like SplitView and Key Moments. You'll also end up paying way more.
If you're looking at traditional Foxtel, you'll also need a basic Foxtel Plus subscription, which will set you back $70 per month, excluding any discounts, plus the $30 Sports package. This means a total of $100 per month. Foxtel also usually charge a $199 iQ5 self-install kit fee, which can be waived during promo periods, and a $35 standard connection fee.
See Foxtel's plans here:
Foxtel Now is a bit more affordable. You'll pay $25 per month for the starter pack, and once you add on the Sports pack, you'll pay $54 per month.
See Foxtel Now's bundle plans here:
The Foxtel and Foxtel Now starter packs can be of great value if you love your comedy, drama or lifestyle programming as much as you love your sport. The packs come with thousands of hours of premium entertainment and if you choose Foxtel Now the starter pack will even get you access to much-coveted HBO highlights like House of the Dragon, Euphoria, The White Lotus and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
Otherwise, Kayo Sports is just flat-out cheaper. That's without adding any discount through Hubbl's "stack and save" option.
What are the best plans for Kayo Sports?
Streaming TV and movies on your home internet — whether through Kayo, Foxtel Now or another service - will chew up a lot of data. That's why we recommend getting an unlimited plan on an NBN 50 speed tier.
Here are the cheapest NBN 50 plans in our database:
