Starlink has revealed details for its new V5 satellite dish, which, while more compact, is slower than the V4.
The new device is smaller, weighs less and should consume around half as much power.
The Starlink V4 model (which is currently included as part of the Standard Starlink Kit) can reach peak download speeds of 400Mbps and above, but the new V5 model is slightly less powerful in that regard.
According to Starlink, its peak download speeds are closer to 375Mbps and above. The exact peak speeds may vary as they depend on the plan a customer is on and real-time performance.

At this stage, the V5 model is only rolling out across certain areas of the United States, with no word on when it will become available in Australia.
Starlink says that as production ramps up, the V5 dish will be available in more areas. While it's a compact model, it's not a replacement for a Starlink Mini dish, which is for use while in motion.
