WhistleOut Publisher Joe Hanlon, provides analysis on how much people are willing to pay for faster NBN connections.
Analysis of the 20 most popular plans on the NBN plan comparison site WhistleOut.com suggests the average price people are willing to spend when they go searching for a new NBN plan is $67.66 a month, at which price they'll get an average download speed of 47mbps.
So average Australians would have to be willing to pay more than double what they're paying now to upgrade to gigabit speeds, but in return they'd get a service that operates more than 20 times faster.
Of course, it's only good value for money if you actually use the extra bandwidth, and as Joe Hanlon, publisher at WhistleOut points out, not many people will get full value from the extra speeds.
