NBN 100 plans are the first of the fastest unlimited plans you can get. They're suited to larger households and smaller households with an appetite for larger downloads.
NBN providers offer two types of NBN 100 plan. One kind comes with a maximum upload speed of 20Mbps while the other has maximum upload speeds of 40Mbps.

Popular unlimited data NBN 250 plans
NBN 250 plans aren't for the faint of heart. In addition to faster download speeds, they're also a lot more expensive. Even if money is no obstacle, they're not available to everyone.

Optus unlimited NBN plans
If Optus is your preferred NBN provider, you'll find a few perks beyond unlimited data.
Optus includes its second-generation Ultra WiFi Modem when you stay connected for 36 months. Effectively, you get an $8.50 discount each month you stay signed up, if you leave earlier, you'll need to pay out $8.50 for each month remaining in the 36-month term. The total cost of the modem is $306.
Optus NBN plan customers get access to Optus SubHub which is a subscription bundling service. If you subscribe to three or more services through SubHub you get a 10% discount. Through SubHub you get access to discounted Optus Sport at $9.99 per month. While Optus Sport can count towards your SubHub total you won't earn any further discount on it, itself.
TPG unlimited NBN plans
TPG's unlimited data NBN plans come with fewer perks but are another good option for those who prefer to sign up with larger providers.
You can BYO modem or get a free modem if you sign up for a six-month contract (with a $10 delivery fee).
Telstra unlimited NBN plans
Telstra's unlimited data NBN plans tend to be some of the most expensive, but like Optus' come with a range of perks.
You get a third-generation Telstra Smart Modem for free when you stay connected for 24 months. If you leave early, you'll need to return the modem in good working condition or pay a $200 non-return fee.

Is an unlimited data NBN plan expensive?
Unlimited data NBN plans don't have to be expesnive. Unlimited data NBN plans come in a variety of speed tiers. It is the level of speed on your plan that plays a major factor in the price. The fastest NBN plans like those in the NBN 250 and NBN 1000 speed tiers tend to be the most expensive, while NBN 25, NBN 50 and NBN 100 are cheaper. NBN 12, which is the slowest speed, tends to be more expensive than NBN 25.
Are unlimited data NBN plans really unlimited?
Unlimited data NBN plans are really unlimited. You can generally download as much as you want with no penalties or fees for using too much data. The only catch is most providers will have a "fair use policy" usually stipulating that your plan has to be for home use, it's pretty standard and is more about preventing people from using their unlimited data for fraudulent purposes.
