Starlink dish in farm field

Taking a leaf out of Australian ISPs' playbooks, Starlink has started offering honeymoon discounts for its residential satellite internet plans. Honeymoon discounts are where you can pay a lower price as an introductory rate. In the case of Starlink, it is offering a $20 per month discount for the first four months.

This brings the price of Starlink's Residential 100Mbps plan down to just $49 per month (from $69 per month) — the lowest we've seen at WhistleOut since the low-earth orbit satellite provider launched in Australia.

The 200Mbps is down to $79 per month (from $99) and the Max plan is currently $119 per month (from $139). Remember, these introductory prices last four months before returning to the regular pricing. Effectively, you're saving $80 across the board.

The barrier to entry for getting started with Starlink has never been lower for Australian customers, especially since the provider made its Standard Kits available as a free rental last year.

Normally retailing for $549, the kit acts as your router to Starlink's LEO satellites. You'll need to pay $19 one-off in shipping and taxes. You can choose to self-install the kit or have an authorised installer do the work for $140. Starlink offers 50% off professional installation when you sign up for its 200Mbps plan and free professional installation on its Max plan.

Its Roam plans start at $80 per month with 100GB of data.
