Man wearing blue top using mobile phone

If you've been considering a switch to Vodafone, now's the time. The telco has a range of hot offers available on both postpaid and prepaid plans.

And there are plenty of reasons to love Australia's third largest telco. While it might not have the same coverage as Optus or Telstra, Vodafone has been a consistent innovative force, pushing the local industry forward. On top of great value phone plans, Vodafone's crown jewel is its $5 per day global roaming deal.

There are heaps of great deals available, and we've rounded up the top picks for the best-value Vodafone plans for phone, SIM only, and prepaid.

Of course, if you'd rather hunt down your own deal, you can compare all of Vodafone's plans here.

If none of Vodafone's plans are jumping out at you though, read this month's picks for the best mobile plans from different carriers, or compare them to the competition's SIM-only mobile phone plans:

If you're still on the fence when it comes to Vodafone, then you could always go with a Vodafone MVNO. Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) is a technical term for anyone authorised to resell access to the larger mobile networks of Vodafone, Telstra and Optus. With few overhead costs to contend with, MVNOs can offer basically the same plans as big brand telcos without charging big brand costs.

Check out a few of the most popular SIM-only plans from some of Vodafone's MVNOs:

As with Vodafone's SIM-only plans, plans with phones are also contract-free, which means you can leave at any time. You'll just need to pay out the remaining value on your phone.

Vodafone offers the choice to pay off your phone over 24 or 36 months, which can certainly help if you want a shiny new Samsung or iPhone but are operating on a budget.

Just like the Vodafone's SIM-only plans, device plans come are free from excess data charges. If you go over your monthly cap, your data speeds will simply be slowed to 2Mbps or 10Mbps, depending on your plan.

The exception is Vodafone's  unlimited data mobile plan offering truly unlimited data. The plan will constantly deliver the maximum network speeds available at the time for $85 per month. The plan is available as a SIM-only option or can be paired with a new phone.

Vodafone coverage

Vodafone gets a bad rap sometimes in terms of their perceived value and coverage, but Vodafone actually covers 96% of the Australian population which is just marginally less than Optus.
