What is gomo?
gomo is Optus' new digital-only budget brand, somewhat akin to felix's relationship to Vodafone and Belong's to Telstra. The key pillar behind the gomo pitch is simplicity: there's just one plan, and after you get your SIM card, everything is managed through the app.
Who owns gomo?
gomo is entirely owned by Optus.
What network does gomo use?
gomo is powered by the Optus 3G and 4G network. At this stage, gomo customers don't have access to 5G connectivity.
gomo's mobile plans
gomo initially launched with just one plan, but now it has three. A $15 per month option, a $25 per month option, and a $35 per month option. Data increases with your monthly spend, but all plans have unlimited talk and text.
The plans are technically prepaid, but you'll need to establish a subscription when you're setting up your service. This means your plan will effectively automatically recharge each month. gomo plans will recharge on the same day you establish your service each month, at 11PM Sydney time.
If you sign-up before May 31, you're able to get double data for your firs three months.
If you burn through your allowance, you'll still be able to use your gomo SIM for talk and text. If you need excess data, you can pay $5 to get 5GB. This process isn't automatic, so you won't get hit with bill shock. You can purchase as many data top-ups as you need each month.
gomo plans come with a 200GB data bank for storing any unused allowance. This can then be used in future months where you may have burnt through all your data.
gomo plans can be cancelled at any time.
International calls
gomo's $25 and $35 plans plans includes unlimited international calls to 15 destinations. International text is not available, however. gomo's $15 plan does not have any international inclusions.
Included countries: Canada, mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
International roaming
gomo does not support international roaming at this time.
