HMD has announced a new feature phone the HMD 110 which will cost $79.
The HMD 110 fits the description of a "dumb phone", making it ideal if you just need a phone for some talk and text or are looking for a digital detox. It has a 2-inch display, up from 1.77-inches on the previous model.
It features a voice recorder, a simple dual camera with LED flashlight, an FM radio, MP3 player and storage for up to 2,000 contacts. You get a 3.5mm jack for wired earphones, plus the classic mobile game Snake. With a smaller 1,450 mAh removable battery HMD says the 110 offers up to 21 hours of talk time. It comes in Black and Purple.

It was one of two budget devices announced alongside the budget smartphone the HMD Key which costs $129.
The HMD Key has a 6.5-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 8MP dual main camera and 5MP selfie camera. HMD says it should run for up to 47 hours with its 4,000 mAh battery. It comes in Midnight Black and Icy Blue.
The HMD Key comes with Android 14 (Go Edition) which is a streamlined version of the Android 14 operating system and won't receive any OS updates (with Android 14 already being one version behind the latest standard). It comes with security updates every quarter for two years. This is also behind the standard three-year practice for most manufacturers.
The HMD Key is available at Big W and Officeworks, while the HMD 110 is available at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Officeworks. Each can be paired with a SIM-only plan of your choice.
