OPPO confirms Find X9 Pro Teleconverter Lens will work with future phones

The telephoto lens accessory OPPO launched alongside the Find X9 Pro will be compatible with other devices, a spokesperson has confirmed to WhistleOut. 

"The Teleconverter Lens will be compatible with select future OPPO flagship models," said the spokesperson. "Further details on future device compatibility will be shared at the time of those product announcements."

The Teleconverter Lens is part of the brand's $699 Teleconverter Kit, which also includes a case, a mounting plate, and a tripod mount for the lens. It is likely that a new case and mounting plate will be needed to use the lens with future phone models, unless OPPO maintains exact same phone and camera bump dimensions. 

OPPO was unable to confirm how many generations the Teleconverter Lens will be capable of, but given the $699 asking price, it is nice to know at least some future devices will be compatible with the expensive accessory. 

When attached to the Find X9 Pro, the Teleconverter Lens effectively turns the 3x zoom lens into a 10x zoom lens. It can also take 20x "optical quality" images by cropping the sensor, and 40x "AI enhanced" zoom images. 

In our Find X9 Pro review, we were impressed by the images captured using the Teleconverter Lens, but thought it could be a little easier too.
