After a few weeks of, Samsung has finally officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
It will cost 2,789,600 Korean won – roughly AUD$3,030 by the exchange rate at the time of writing. That's about $280 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 at launch.
Critically, the Z Fold SE will only be available in South Korea when it goes on sale October 25, with a rumoured release in China at a later date.
So unless you're planning on importing it, it will remain out of reach of Australians' hands.
The focus has been on refining the design while also powering up the specs. The Galaxy Z Fold SE is 1.5mm thinner and three grams lighter than its predecessor the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was only released back in July.
We noted in our review of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that the camera system was underwhelming, with a 50MP main camera. The Galaxy Z Fold SE rectifies this with a main camera that is finally 200MP like on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The displays have been sized up too, the outside cover display is now 6.5-inches (up from 6.3-inches) and the inside display a full 8-inches (up from 7.6-inches). The Z Fold SE also comes with 16GB of RAM to better power Galaxy AI.
