After teasing a multi-fold device since the start of the year, Samsung today unveiled its first phone that can fold multiple times. Dubbed the Galaxy Z TriFold, the name could be seen as a bit of a misnomer. The new device has three discrete parts, but only folds twice. That's still twice the number of hinges that you'll find in Samsung's other foldables, however.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will go on sale in South Korea from December 12, but pricing has yet to be confirmed. China, Taiwan, and Singapore are also set to get the new device this year, with the United States to follow in the first quarter of 2026.
Australia wasn't mentioned in Samsung's press release, and a local Samsung spokesperson was unable to provide further details when asked by WhistleOut.

The Galaxy Z TriFold builds on the core idea of Samsung's book-style foldables. When folded up, the Galaxy Z TriFold looks pretty similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7; it has a 6.5-inch cover display, albeit in a thicker body. The extra hinge means the TriFold unfolds into a 10-inch tablet, rather than an 8-inch one like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This is large enough to run three apps at the same time.
Folded, the Galaxy Z TriFold measures in at 12.9mm, but each of its three "screens" has a different thickness when unfolded. One is 4.2mm, one is 4mm, and the final one is 3.9mm. The device weighs 309g, making it about 95g heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Key specifications for the Galaxy Z TriFold include a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 120Hz refresh rate on both the internal and external displays, 16GB of RAM, at least 512GB of storage, IP48 water resistance, and a 5,600mAh battery. The camera configuration includes a 200MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP 3x zoom lens, and a 10MP selfie camera in each display.
