Vodafone customer are now able to save up to 20% on their phone and internet bills when they bundle multiple plans on the same account. Any Vodafone customer on an eligible postpaid mobile, postpaid mobile broadband/tablet, or NBN internet plan is able to save at least 5% when they bundle it with another eligible plan.
Discounts will continue to increase with every plan that's added to the same account. The complete discount structure is as follows:
- 1 plan: No discount
- 2 plans: 5% off each plan
- 3 plans: 10% off each plan
- 4 plans: 15% off each plan
- 5 or more plans: 20% off each plan
Eligible plans include:
- Postpaid mobile phone plans launched after July 25 2018 worth at least $30 per month
- Postpaid tablet and mobile broadband plans launched after June 27 2018 worth at least $30 per month
- NBN 50 (Standard Plus Speed) and NBN 100 (Premium Speed) plans worth at least $69 per month
If you're an existing Vodafone customer with eligible plans on one account (or want to check if you have eligible plans), you can activate the discount by calling up Vodafone, heading into a store, or by logging in to the My Vodafone online portal. If you're not an eligible plan, Vodafone is able to move you onto an in-market offer which will activate the bundling discount.
While the bundling discount may be a good play for attracting new customers, it also means existing Vodafone subscribers could find themselves with a cheaper bill. But it's worth remembering that bundling discounts aren’t applied automatically for existing customers - you'll need to request them.
Of course, Vodafone isn't the only telco to offer discounts for customers with multiple plans. Optus MVNO Yomojo offers up to 15% off to customers who sign up for multiple plans on the same account, although the deepest discounts are reserved for those with six SIMs on one bill.
Telstra doesn't do discounted pricing, but existing mobile and internet customers can add on a $39 per month SIM-only companion plan to their accounts with 30GB of data and unlimited talk and text. Telstra typically sells a comparable SIM-only plan for $49 per month.
Optus offers mobile customers a $10 per month discount on broadband plans.
