Student deal: 10GB for $40 a month on Telstra

New student? Back at university for the start of a new semester? Well Telstra has a deal for you. If you're a UNiDAYS member, you're eligible for an online only offer from Telstra which will get you 10GB of data, $1,000 talk, and unlimited text for $40 per month.

To sweeten the deal, you'll also get unlimited international calls to ten countries - China, India, UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, USA, and Canada -, six months of free Apple Music, and Telstra's AFL, NRL and Netball sport passes.

The only catch is you'll need to commit to a 12-month contract, which brings the total cost to $480 over the year. You'll also need to bring your own phone. The offer is available to both new and recontracting customers. 

For comparison, dropping $40 per month on a non-student plan on Telstra would normally only get you $1,000 talk, unlimited text, and 5GB of data. So, in our opinion, it's not a bad deal.
