Samsung has announced two new additions to its "FE" line of tablets: the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus. Samsung's FE devices are a rung below its more premium products, effectively making the new Tab S10 FE devices the equivalent to Apple's iPad Air.
In Samsung's case, the Tab S10 FE family give it more affordable new tablets; its mainline Tab S10 devices start at $1,799, while the cheapest Galaxy S10 FE is $849. For comparison, the latest iPad Air starts at $999.
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy S10 FE Plus share most of their specs; the only two differences are screen and battery capacity. The smaller Galaxy S10 FE has a 10.9-inch display and an 8,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S10 FE Plus has a 13.1-inch display and a 10,090mAh battery.
Otherwise, what you're getting is identical: a 90Hz refresh rate on the display, an Exynos 1580 chipset (the same you'll find inside the Galaxy A56), a minimum of 128GB of storage, at least 8GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, a 12MP selfie camera, and an S Pen in the box.
Notably, the new Galaxy Tab S10 FE tablets are both rated IP68 for water resistance. While IP ratings are common on phones, they're still pretty unusual on tablets. There's no iPad with water resistance, for example.
The Galaxy S10 Tab FE starts at $849 locally for a WiFi-only model, or at $1,049 for a 5G version. The larger Galaxy S10 Tab FE Plus starts at $1,099 for the WiFi-only model, or at $1,299 if you want 5G.
The WiFi-only models will come in a choice of grey, silver, and light blue, but the 5G variants are only available in grey.
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus will both be available from April 17.
