Telstra's Starlink plans are coming March next year

Telstra will start reselling Starlink plans to consumers from March next year, as part of the partnership it announced in July. Telstra's Starlink plans will differ from what Starlink itself sells, as they'll also include a home phone component.

The first trials for Telstra's consumer Starlink plans will start this month, but we still don’t know anything about pricing. For reference, Telstra currently charges $50 per month for a voice-only home phone plan delivered via the NBN, while Starlink charges $139 per month for its standard internet service.

Starlink plans do come with a hefty $599 hardware fee, however. Telstra has typically avoided charging upfront hardware fees with internet plans. Instead, customers are asked to return their hardware if they leave within the first two years or pay a non-return fee.

Telstra this month has started taking orders for enterprise-grade Starlink plans, with the service set to go live from mid-January. Unlike Telstra's consumer offering, these plans won't include a home phone component. Telstra hasn't made its enterprise pricing for Starlink public, so we haven't been able to get an idea of how it compares to what Starlink itself charges.
