Some Vodafone mobile customers are eligible for year of free internet

Vodafone is offering its postpaid mobile customers a year of free internet, provided they're connected to the Vision Network.

The Vision Network is an NBN alternative owned by Vodafone parent company TPG, but unlike NBN, you can't get it everywhere. It's only available to around 410,000 homes, and many of these are apartments in capital cities.

If you are eligible, a free year of internet is certainly worth considering. Vodafone has three plans on the Vision Network:

A 100Mbps plan that's $75 per month after the free year
A 250Mbps plan that's $80 per month after the free year
A 500Mbps plan that's $90 per month after the free year

If you're not a Vodafone mobile customer, you can get these plans for half price for the first year.

Alternatively, you can always switch to Vodafone and then to Vision Network. Here are Vodafone's SIM-only plans:

Vodafone also currently has EOFY deals on many handsets, including the iPhone 16 family.

Vodafone isn't selling Vision Network plans online, so you'll need to either call 1300 801 122 or head to a Vodafone store to sign up.

Sibling brand iiNet is also offering free internet on the Vision Network, where new customers can get their first six months free. Here are iiNet's Vision Network plans:

Both Vodafone and iiNet Vision Network plans are contract-free, so you can always leave after your free period is over. A technician may need to visit to install equipment initially, and you will need to return your modem in good working order to avoid paying a hardware fee.

TPG is in the process of selling the Vision Network to Vocus Group (which owns consumer brands Dodo and iPrimus). WhistleOut has confirmed that the sale of the Vision Network does not include the customer base, so it won't impact Vodafone customers on Vision Network plans.
