The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is Google's latest foldable device. It follows on the coattails of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (which
is Google's second foldable but the first to make its way down under).
Similar to Galaxy's Z Fold models, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a tablet-style foldable that works like a normal phone
when closed, but can open up to a larger tablet-sized screen.

Pro Fold plans
Currently, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available paired with mobile
plans from Telstra.
The overall form-factor of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold carries through from last year's design. However, it does
feature smaller borders and even thinner bezels on the outside display, meaning you now get a slightly bigger
6.4-inch Actua display (as opposed to a 6.3-inch inside display on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold). The inside display is
still an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display.
It features a new gearless, high-strength hinge that should feel more comfortable to hold, as well as increase
durability.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the first foldable device with built-in Qi2 wireless charging. Similar to Apple's
MagSafe, although Google is calling it Pixelsnap, it allows various accessories from portable batteries, wallets
or phone stands to magnetically attach to the back of the device.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available in a choice of Jade or Moonstone.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold camera
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with a triple rear camera system. It has a 48MP primary camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide
camera, and 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera. There's also a 10MP selfie camera on the front. These are the same
specs as the setup on last year's foldable, although the Pixel 9 Pro Fold delivered some of the best shots we've
seen on a foldable thus far.
There's also a slew of new software camera features. Instant View lets you review your photos side-by-side on the
unfolded inner screen as you shoot with no need to go back to the photo app. New, AI-powered features include
Camera Coach (suggestions for improving your shot composition) and Auto Best Takes, which combines similar group
photo shots into one, so no one is left not looking at the camera.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold battery
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a 5015mAh battery, up from 4,650mAh found in the Pixel
9 Pro Fold. In our testing of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, we found it ran with a full day's charge with a bit of a
buffer.
We'll be able to say more about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold's battery life once we've got our hands on
it, but we would expect it to run as long, if not longer.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold processor
Like the rest of the Pixel 10 family, the Pro Fold is powered by the Google-made Tensor G5 processor.
According to Google, the Tensor G5 is its most significant upgrade since it began making its own chips.
On average across the range, it has 34% faster CPU performance when compared to last year's Pixel 9 range.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold 5G
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold naturally comes with 5G connectivity. You can use WhistleOut's coverage checker tool to
see whether 5G is available in your area. You just need to enter your
address
when searching for a new phone plan.
The map below shows you what kind of coverage you have in your area. 5G coverage is highlighted using the
darkest
shade of purple, but unticking 4G can help make it clearer. You can use the drop-down menu to choose between
telcos.
Note: Coverage maps are only approximate, only show outdoor coverage, and may be impacted by
local conditions such as buildings.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold eSIM
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold supports eSIM as
well
as having physical SIM card slot. eSIM (an electronic SIM or embedded SIM) is a rewritable SIM card that’s built
directly
into the phone. It never leaves your phone. Instead, you actually download a "software SIM" from your provider
of
choice.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold AI features
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a few new AI features that are available across the entire Pixel 10 family and
include the following:
Magic Cue: Magic Cue proactively surfaces contextual information across apps on your Pixel.
For
example, if you're making an appointment, Magic Cue can bring up your calendar details in the phone app as
you place the call.
Daily Hub: A new briefing pane, similar to Samsung's Now Brief, that pulls
info about your day in one place.
Take a Message: If you miss or decline a phone call, this feature will give you
real-time
transcripts from the call, and suggest next steps.
Live Translate: Like recent Samsung flagships, the Pixel 10 family can automatically
translate
between languages in phone calls. Rather than hearing a generic robot voice however, the tranlsation will
actually be read in the caller's voice.
Telstra's Pixel plans are the priciest on the Australian market, but they do pack in a
fair amount of extra benefits.
Telstra lets you pay your Pixel off over 12, 24, or 36-month periods. Each Telstra plan comes with unlimited
data.
This
means once you use up your allowance your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps instead of you
being
charged for excess data.
Optus' Pixel plans come with solid data inclusions and a couple of bonus perks. Its top-of-the-line plans
also have unlimited international calls to selected
destinations.
All of Optus' mobile plans are contract-free, and devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months.
Like Telstra, Optus' postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, your
plan
is
slowed to 1.5Mbps.
How to
choose
the best
Pixel 10 Pro Fold plan for you
Here's what you should keep in mind when comparing Pixel 10 Pro Fold plans:
How much data you need. Knowing how much mobile data do you
use means you'll avoid paying more than necessary. There's no point in getting the
plan with the largest
data allowance if you only use 30GB a month.
Repayment period. Decide whether you want to pay off your phone over a shorter 12-month
period
but pay more per month or opt for a longer repayment period like 24 and 36 months and lower your monthly
bill.
