Outright Pricing: Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

The Galaxy S21 FE is available in two different options, a 128GB model and a 256GB model. Both have 5G.

  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (128GB): $999
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (256GB): $1,099

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Design

The Galaxy S21 FE is almost a dead ringer for the Galaxy S21, but uses slightly different materials and is a little larger. The back is entirely plastic, including the camera bump. On the standard S21, the back is also plastic, but the camera bump is aluminium. The Galaxy S21 FE measures 6.4-inch, while the Galaxy S21 is smaller at 6.2-inch.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Camera

The Galaxy S21 FE has a similar configuration to the Galaxy S21. You get a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, which are identical to that found in the Galaxy S21. The main difference is a lower resolution telephoto lens, measuring in at 8MP. The Galaxy S21 telephoto lens is 64MP.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Battery Life

The Galaxy S21 FE features a 4,500mAh battery, which puts it between the S21 and S21+ in terms of capacity. We'll need to wait until we get our hands on the phone to gauge real-world performance.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Processor

Local variants of the Galaxy S21 FE are powered by Samsung's Exynos 2100 processor. This is the same process you'll find in every other Galaxy S21 device.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Colours

The Galaxy S21 FE is available in four colours: white, graphite, lavender, and olive.

Choosing a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE plan

With the WhistleOut search tool, you'll be able to compare Galaxy S21 FE pricing and inclusions across every provider. But there's a lot more to plans than just cost and data. Here's a breakdown of the major benefits you can expect each provider to offer.

Telstra

Telstra Galaxy plans are often the priciest on the Australian market, but they do come with a host of perks. These include:

  • Data-free access to Apple Music
  • Access to the Telstra Plus perks and rewards program

Telstra lets you pay your Galaxy off over 12 or 24 months, and all plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your cap, your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps, which is still fast enough to stream video in SD. But speeds may be slower during peak times.

Optus

Optus Galaxy plans come with solid data inclusions and entertainment extras. Most Optus Galaxy plans includes:

  • Free access to Optus Sport
  • Discounted movie tickets for Hoyts cinemas

Higher-end Optus Samsung plans also come with unlimited international calls to selected destinations included with the plan.

All Optus plans are contract-free, devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months, and you can customise inclusions like roaming and international calls on a month-to-month basis.

In addition, all Optus postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, you'll be slowed to 1.5Mbps rather than being billed $10 per gigabyte.

Vodafone

Vodafone Galaxy plans may not come with the kinds of freebies and perks you can get from Optus or Telstra, but they do offer a lot of flexibility. Like Telstra and Optus plans, Vodafone plans are contract-free on the basis that you can leave at any time without penalty. You'll just need to pay out the remaining value of your handset.

You can also step up or down in plan inclusions up to once per month, and ease the burden of ever-rising phone prices by paying off your handset over 12, 24 or 36 months. You'll pay the same overall for your Galaxy no matter which option you pick.

Vodafone postpaid plans are all free from excess data charges. When you go over your plan allowance, you'll be capped to 2Mbps and 10Mbps, depending on how much you're spending per month. The higher your bill, the higher your capped data speeds. Vodafone also has a truly unlimited plan, with one slight catch - you'll only get 30GB of data for hotspotting each month.

You'll also get access to Vodafone's famous $5 roaming, which is still easily the best way to travel with your Australian phone number.

Woolworths Galaxy plans may not come from a big name telco, but there are other perks.

To start, Woolworths Mobile also offers up to 300GB Data Banking for your excess data. Anything of your data allowance that you don't use will roll over to the next month. You can have up to 300GB of data in your data bank at any time.

Customers can also gift spare data to other Woolworths Mobile users.

Woolworths Mobile customers can also get 10% off their Woolworths grocery shop once per month.

Woolworths Mobile is powered by the Telstra network, but at present, does not have access to 5G.
