Beats' first pair of over-ear headphones since 2017 - the Studio Pro - will launch locally at the start of August for $529.95. Orders will kick off on August 9, with the headphone shipping from August 10.
The Beats Studio Pro effectively succeed the Beats Studio 3, with Apple saying they feature improved sound with almost no distortion, upgraded noise cancelling, and better call quality. While the design is still very much classic Beats, the ear cups have been redesigned with new leather and memory foam.
Like the Beats Studio Buds Plus, the Studio Pro are designed to work with both iPhone and Android. While they don't feature the H1 or H2 chips featured in AirPods and select other Beats earbuds, they still have seamless pairing across any Apple device connected to the same iCloud account, Find My support, and Hey Siri. They also support personalised spatial audio.
On the Android front, the Beats Studio Pro support Google Fast Pair, Find My Device, seamless audio switching, and there's even a Beats app.
The Beats Studio Pro are also rather versatile in how you can connect them to a device. There's your standard Bluetooth, a 3.5mm cable in the box, as well as a USB-C option. When using USB-C for audio, the Beats Studio Pro are able to handle lossless audio from streaming services like Apple Music and Tidal.
Users also have access to three different sound profiles when listening over USB-C: the Beats Signature profile for music, a profile for movies and gaming, and another for phone calls and podcasts.
Apple says the Beats Studio Pro will last for up to 24 hours per charge with noise cancelling on, or 40 hours with it off. A ten-minute charge will get you up to four hours of playback.
The Beats Studio Pro will be available in four colours: Sandstone, Navy, Deep Brown, and Black.
