The "standard" Pixel 9 Pro is set to hit Australian shores on October 24, according to a listing on the JB Hi-Fi website. While the Pixel 9 Pro has already launched in other markets, it's been missing in action in Australia, with Google initially saying it will arrive in Spring.

The Pixel 9 Pro is perhaps the "newest" phone in the Pixel 9 family, marking the first time Google has offered a choice of size for its Pro models. In previous years, you needed to pick the largest Pixel if you wanted the best cameras and displays. This time round, you can pick from the 6.3-inch Pixel 9 Pro or the 6.8-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Kery specifications for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are identical. The only difference is screen size and battery capacity. Compare Pixel 9 specs below:

As a smaller phone, the Pixel 9 Pro is naturally a bit cheaper than the Pixel 9 Pro XL, starting at $1,699 outright.

While we've not tested the Pixel 9 Pro, we were fans of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, dubbing it "Android's photography king" in our review. Given the similarity between the phones, this bodes well for the Pixel 9 Pro. The key unknown is battery life.

Update 02/10: A Google spokesperson confirmed the October 24 release date for the Pixel 9 Pro, and told WhistleOut there will be pre-order period.
