After being exclusive to China for the last few years, OPPO's latest flagship phones are set to get a global release this time around. OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau confirmed the Find X8 series will be launched worldwide "soon" on Twitter.
A local OPPO spokesperson was unable to confirm whether this would include Australia. OPPO has historically launched its flagship phones in Australia, however. It released the full Find X5 series in Australia back in 2022. The Find X5 was OPPO's last traditional flagship to see a global release. The brand also launched foldable Find N3 locally at the end of last year.
OPPO has already announced the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in China. In the past, some specifications have varied between models OPPO has released in China and in the rest of the world, but we're expecting core ideas to be the same.
In a statement on the OPPO website, Lau called the Find X8 Pro a "camera flagship pushing industry limits with its incredible zoom", and described the standard Find X8 as "incredibly thin and light despite its ultra-powerful performance".
The Find X8 Pro has four 50MP cameras on the back, including two optical zoom lenses: a 3x lens and a 6x lens. The standard Find X8 has three, dropping the 6x lens. It is about 20 grams lighter, however, measuring in at 192 grams. That also makes it around 35 grams lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
A Find X8 Ultra is also expected to be part of the device family, but has not been announced yet.
