Samsung’s current lineup of affordable smartphones is getting a new addition in the form of the Galaxy A27.
Sitting below the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 when it comes to both pricing and specs, the new device is built around a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A27 is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
In terms of the overall design, the Samsung Galaxy A27 doesn’t deviate too much from the template laid out by its siblings. It weighs 200g and boasts a slim 7.8mm unibody that comes with IP64 water and dust resistance. On the front, there’s a 12MP selfie camera. Then, on the back, there's a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens.
Samsung’s latest budget buy comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, DeX support, as well as Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection on both sides. The device also supports fast wireless charging of up to 25W and expandable storage via MicroSD card, but lacks supports for wireless charging via Qi.
The Galaxy A27 ships with Android 16 out of the box, with Samsung committing to post-launch support that promises to see the device through six generations of OS upgrades and security updates. For most consumers, the most tantalising part of the package here may well be the price.
In Australia, the Galaxy A27 starts at an RRP of $499. Those who get in early and pick up the handset through participating retailers between July 3 and July 30 will be able to save $50 on that asking price, which brings it down to $449 for early adopters.
The Samsung Galaxy A27 goes on sale in Australia from July 3.
