TPG has refreshed its range of mobile plans, increasing data allowances while at the same time offering a bundle discount for existing TPG internet customers. The new range of plan represents decent value without the discount, but become far more compelling if you're already with TPG. Discounts are available on every plan other than the entry-level $20 per month plan with 12GB.
When you factor in the discounts, you're looking at $20 per month for 25GB, $25 per month for 45GB, or $30 per month for 60GB. The discount will apply for as long as you're subscribed to TPG for both your internet and mobile.
While you can find better value thanks to temporary promotions, TPG's plans are a solid long-term deal. For example, Circles.Life is currently offering 50GB for $18 per month, this offer only lasts for your first year with the telco, after which you'll pay $28 per month for 20GB. Similar applies to sibling TPG-brand iiNet, where you're looking at $15 per month for 40GB for your first six months, but you'll pay $29.99 per month thereafter.
Here's how TPG's 45GB plan compares:
All TPG mobile plans are prepaid, but have a month-long expiry rather than 28 days. The plans themselves are quite barebone, but you can add international calls to 37 countries for an extra $5 per month. If you go over your allowance, you'll be charged $10 for a 2GB top-up.
TPG's mobile plans are naturally powered by the Vodafone network. And for reference, here are TPG's NBN plans:
Vodafone has been offering internet and mobile bundles even prior to its merger with TPG, but recently simplified its offering. If you're a Vodafone postpaid mobile customer, you can now save $15 per month on any Vodafone NBN.
