Today in sentences that shouldn't exist, Apple has teamed up with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for a short film showing off Siri on iPhone 7. Despite the sheer absurdity of the idea and the cringeworthy name - The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day - the final product works far better than it has any right to.
Through the video's three-and-a-bit minute duration, Johnson uses Siri and his jet black iPhone 7 Plus to check his schedule, book a ride, read emails, find photos, play music, convert units, and more. There's also an 11/10 dad joke or two.
Apple's emphasis on Siri isn't surprising given the upcoming Siri-powered HomePod speaker and further improvements coming to the virtual assistant in iOS 11. From iOS 11 onward, Siri will be to translate from English to Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, and will use on-device learning to facilitate more natural integrations by guessing what you want next.
Apple will also be expanding the types of third party applications that can interact with Siri.
