Motorola Moto Snap

Prefer WhistleOut in Google

Announced alongside the new Moto Edge 70 Plus at this year’s IFA Conference in Berlin, Motorola is making a move into the magnetic charging space.

The manufacturer has announced a new accessory aimed at mobile devices called the Moto Snap Wireless Charger. Aside from the Motorola logo on the top of the charger, there’s not much to say about the design of the Moto Snap. While these minimalist looks make for a form factor that’s a dead-ringer for Google’s Pixelsnap peripherals, the functionality is much in line with something like Apple’s MagSafe chargers.

The Moto Snap supports wireless charging speeds of up to 25W to Qi2.2 handsets and comes with built-in overheating and overcharging protection, as well as a custom stand with a hinge designed to offer more stable viewing angles. Compatible Motorola devices can charge at a faster 30W. The charger itself is also made from soft silicone lining, so as to ensure no accidental scratches to the back of your device.

When it launches, the Moto Snap will be available both on its own and as part of an optional bundle. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Motorola’s Australian PR have told us there are no plans to bring this device down under.

Even if that wasn’t the case though, the bigger caveat is that Motorola currently only offers a single handset that is compatible with the Moto Snap fresh out of the box. It’ll play nice with anything in a MagSafe case, of course, but if you’re looking to keep things in the ecosystem, you currently only have a single option in the form of the Moto Edge 70 Max.

Still, given the growing popularity of MagSafe accessories, it feels like Motorola bringing Moto Snap to Australia is more a matter of time than anything else — especially since the Moto Edge 70 Max hasn’t yet launched locally either.

Disclosure: The author of this piece travelled to IFA 2026 as a guest of Lenovo, the owner of Motorola.
