Red Energy has entered into a partnership with Aussie Broadband that will see it offer internet to its customers. Aussie Broadband announced the deal in its first quarter trading update, and said Red Energy will initially offer residential NBN and Opticomm plans.

Unlike Aussie Broadband's previous partnership with Origin Energy, the partnership with Red Energy isn't a white-label agreement. An Aussie Broadband spokesperson told WhistleOut Red Energy will simply resell Aussie Broadband NBN plans, rather than putting them under its own name.

Here are Aussie Broadband's NBN plans:

It's unclear if Red Energy will offer a discount for bundling NBN with its energy and gas plans. This is a fairly standard offer across providers that sell internet and energy, such as Origin, AGL, and Dodo. Red Energy also allows customers to earn Qantas points on their gas and electricity bills, so this could potentially extend to NBN plans too.

Aussie Broadband's agreement with Red Energy follows the end of its partnership with Origin. In March, the energy provider signed a six-year agreement with Superloop instead.

Update 31/10: Added clarification that the Red Energy partnership isn't a white-label agreement
