Get up to $300 off Optus’ mobile and SubHub bundle

New and existing customers can save some serious cash on a bundle deal from Optus, which combines savings from both its 500GB SIM-only mobile plan and its SubHub platform.

With SubHub, customers with Optus internet or postpaid mobile plans can combine multiple subscriptions from other brands into a single bill – even better, SubHub offers standard discounts of 10% if you add three or more eligible services, or 5% for two.

There are currently 20 services you can sign up to through SubHub. Some of the bigger names are Netflix, Microsoft 365, Binge, and Amazon Prime (which includes Amazon Prime Video). Sport lovers can also add Optus Sport and NBA League Pass.

With the current bundle deal, you can get an extra $10 off your monthly SubHub bill for six months, for a total of $60.

This SubHub deal is paired with a discounted price for Optus’ 500GB SIM-only plan. This plan is a sort of pop-up event that Optus carts out every now and then, and is great value if you want a really big mobile data allowance (normally, Optus’ biggest SIM-only plan is 360GB for $89 per month).

Right now, you can get the 500GB plan for $69 per month for 12 months, if you sign up before August 24. After 12 months, the price bumps up to $89 per month, but you’ll keep that big 500GB allowance. That’s $20 off per month, or $240 over the life of the deal. Even once the price goes up, you're paying the same amount as the much smaller 360GB plan.

In total, the savings come to $300 when you combine the discounts for both parts of the bundle deal. And this doesn’t include the standard 5% and 10% discounts you can get from adding subscriptions to SubHub.

While Optus isn’t always the cheapest option when it comes to SIM-only plans, there aren’t many alternatives if you’re looking for this much data.

While SubHub's part of this deal might only last six months and net you total savings of $60, consider whether its standard 5% and 10% discounts will work for you by themselves.

Even if you don't need a massive 500GB plan, SubHub can sometimes make your monthly bills cheaper, even if a comparable Optus mobile plan is more expensive than your current one. Just how much you'll save depends on how many of your current streaming services can be added to a SubHub account.
