The dedicated streaming service for anime fans, Crunchyroll, just got a price increase. Effective immediately, new Crunchyroll customers will pay $11.99 per month for the single-device Fan tier (previously $10.99 per month) and $14.99 per month for the four-device Mega Fan tier (previously $13.99 per month).

Both annual plans have also increased. A year of the Fan tier will now cost $119.99 per year (previously $109.99 per year) and a year of the Mega Fan tier will cost $149.99 per year (previously $139.99 per year). Existing customers on a monthly plan will be charged the updated pricing from their next billing date after March 4.

Those who had previously signed up for an annual plan before the price increase won't have to worry until their year is up. When their renewal is due, however, they will pay the new yearly cost.

To be fair, this is the first major price hike from Crunchyroll since 2019. In the same amount of time, Netflix has updated its plans in Australia on five separate occasions.

The Sony-owned streaming service Crunchyroll is home to some of the biggest and freshest anime series fast-tracked from Japan. Shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family. It's also where Australians can revisit classics, such as Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and Attack on Titan.
